Engineer for ship’s Life-saving Appliances
The suitable candidate will be responsible for providing inspection and repair services for lifeboats, rescue boats, life-saving appliances, and their releasing mechanisms. The Service engineer will primarily perform annual and five-year inspections on life-saving equipment aboard ships as required by international legislation and always in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines. Integrity and strict adherence to safety procedures and guidelines specified by the manufacturer are fundamental principles in executing the tasks.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
- Degree from a Technical School
- Maritime experience is an advantage
- Over 5 years of experience as a life-saving equipment service engineer
- Ability to manage customers and class surveyors on board the vessel
- Attention to detail, methodical approach, and organizational skills
- Excellent command of English
- Good knowledge of computer programs (Office etc.) and technology
- Sociability and teamwork both with colleagues and third parties
- Interest in the development and growth of the department
- Organizational skills (handling and prioritizing multiple issues, time management, coordination with multiple teams)
- Calm under pressure and dedication to completing tasks correctly
- Ability to travel within and outside of Greece
- Driver's license
